Meredith's a space cadet!!!!!!

So I just got off the phone with Lori who is sitting in our weekly radio meeting. Meanwhile, i'm home unwinding after the show with a cold beer by the fire. Why am I not in the meeting you ask? Well, let me tell you. You see, i'm a total space cadet!!!!!!!!! I completely forgot. This meeting has taken place EVERY Wednesday for the past 12 years. I have NEVER forgotten it. How does that happen? I'm not helping out that whole blonde theory am I?

Well, the power went out on Friday at 5am and it finally came back on Sunday morning. I must have taken my food out of the fridge and put it back four times because the power would turn back on and off. I did finally lose it though and one hundred dollars in groceries. Oh well, still not as bad as some people that may not have it back 'til Christmas.

I think a lot of people decided to get their holiday shopping done during the blackout because the stores were crazy busy. I think that's smart. I mean, it's warm and there are plenty of places to eat. I found even getting gas for the car took forever. I guess people bought them out of gas what with generators. The pumps were really slow in South Portland.

Vegas...

Okay, so I went to Vegas!! It was cool. I was lucky enough to have cool friends with connections so I got the trip free. It was fun but i'm not a huge drinker and I have no money to gamble so Vegas wasn't exactly my favorite place. I don't think i would want to visit there again. It's cool with all the sites, it BLOWS your mind. All the glitzy signs and people are fun to watch, it just wasn't all I thought it was cracked up to be. I would rather travel 6hrs to a nice quiet island where I can lay on the beach and drink a Pina Colada...I did say i'm not a big drinker, right?

Thanksgiving shopping

Holy CRAP! I thought I would get a jump on the holiday rush this weekend to get my shopping done for Thanksgiving. Man, everyone had the same freakin idea!!! It was packed. It took forever. I think I need to stick to grocery shopping at 9pm on a Tuesday. No one seems to be out then :)

OOPS!!

I was napping after a nice hot shower when I got a knock on the door. There was my neighbor Andrea with her dog and the cute little gift I bought through her son's school catalog. She kind of looked at me oddly but I didn't think anything of it. That is until I went to the mirror to wash up and noticed the zit cream I had spotted all over my face.

Oh God I am dreading tomorrow...If Barack Obama wins, that is all i'm going to hear from Jeff and Lori.

If you are wondering...I still voted my heart "McCain" even though I lost the bet. Maybe i'll have to lick another toilet seat.

I wish I wasn't so passionate about this because i'm a sore loser.

Regardless, this is a historic election. Just think, we may have the first female Vice President or the first African American President. Even though I believe Obama's policies will change our country for the worst. It's still an incredible thing :)

Halloween is for kids...

That may be true and if it is, I felt like one this weekend. I invite the kids over for an annual Halloween party at my place. I decorated the entire house like it was haunted. Spiderwebs hanging from the chairs and ceiling, even jelly-like spiders on them. I covered the table in candy and set each kid's place setting with a pumpkin, spiders, glow stick and mini ghost candies. I took white candles and drippend bright red candle wax over them to look like blood.

It was so cool. We all went outside and played glow tag, we watched Ichabod Craine, painted pumpkins, ate pizza, and made Halloween cupcakes.

I felt like I was seven again, it was a blast. Remember those days when the only thing you worried about was if you got the same amount of candy as your bother?

I'm not so motivated lately...

I've been lazy lately. I have the best of intensions but I can't seem to make them work. I wanna get on an exercise routine but I would rather lay on the couch watching Ellen or re-runs of The Golden Girls. What is the matter with me? Do you ever feel that way? I've got a treadmill and exercise bike downstairsn but I just don't wanna do it. I'm gonna push myself into it today and see what happens...I think...

Was GORGEOUS!

Went shopping for Halloween decor and to all the cool "Primitives" shops in the Standish area. My friends and I love shopping at those little places where you can get old style home decorations and FREE hot cider. I love the old fashioned looking things and the yummy smelling candles they sell. I even found the LAST "Fresh Mint" Yankee Candle. They recently discontinued it which made me cry :(
